Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movies have been dominating box offices around the globe for some time now and they have also managed to assert their pull in the Indian box office in recent times. Thor: Love and Thunder, the latest MCU movie to hit theatres, is more proof for this. The movie has now had a fantastic second Saturday, seeing a growth of about 90%.

According to reports, the movie collected Rs. 4 crores (approx) on day 10, which was also its second Saturday. Having made only Rs. 2.5 crore on Friday, this means that Thor 4 saw a growth of around 90% on Saturday. Another interesting fact is that the Hollywood release performed better in its second week than Hit: The First Case and Shabaash Mithu, two Bollywood newbies.

The movie has also had a drop in its pace at the global box office, mostly because of only receiving favourable reviews. However, the box office earnings are expected to grow on its second weekend.

Apart from Hemsworth returning as Thod, the movie also stars Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher, the main antagonist. The fourth Thor movie also features Tessa Thompson, Natalie Portman, Chris Pratt, Jaimie Alexander, Pom Klementieff, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn, Vin Diesel, and Bradley Cooper.

“Brilliant Chris Hemsworth is joined by the stupendous Natalie Portman and Christian Bale in Thor: Love and Thunder, while Taika Waititi plays it very safe with the screenplay this time,” read the movie’s review on OTTplay.

Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder is now available in theatres around the country in English, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu and Malayalam.
