Thor: Love And Thunder box office collection Day 3: Chris Hemsworth, Christian Bale starrer shows 60% jump on first Saturday

There is a lot of fanfare around every MCU movie that hits theatres these days, and this was the case with Thor: Love and Thunder, starring Chris Hemsworth. The movie, which had the top five highest openings in India for a Hollywood movie, has done brilliant business on its first Saturday as well. 

According to Box Office India, Thor: Love and Thunder collected an impressive Rs. 18 crore on its third day. While the movie minted Rs. 18.60 crore on its opening day in India (Thursday), it had a dip in collections on Friday. However, the movie's first Saturday numbers mean that the movie has had an increase of 60 percent from Friday. 

The movie is expected to breach the Rs. 20 crore mark for a single day on its first Sunday, with the movie receiving decent reviews from critics. The extended first weekend of the movie is expected to mint Rs. 70 crore nett in the country. 

"Brilliant Chris Hemsworth is joined by the stupendous Natalie Portman and Christian Bale in Thor: Love and Thunder, while Taika Waititi plays it very safe with the screenplay this time," read the movie’s review on OTTplay. 

The movie is directed by Taika Waititi, who impressed with Thor: Ragnarok. It also stars Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher, the movie’s main antagonist. The fourth standalone Thor movie also features Natalia Portman, Waititi, Tessa Thompson, Chris Pratt, Jaimie Alexander, Pom Klementieff, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn, Vin Diesel, and Bradley Cooper in other important roles. 

Thor: Love and Thunder, which is the 29th movie in the MCU, is now available in theatres around the country in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
