Dhananjaya and Aditi Prabhudeva, who are a part of director Vijay Prasad’s upcoming film Thotapuri, have announced their new collaboration. The two actors will reunite for a film called Once Upon a Time in Jamaaligudda, by director Kushal Gowda, who is best known for his earlier project, Kannadakkagi Ondannu Otti.

The film, according to Kushal, will be different, just like its title, especially in its treatment. The first look and title of the film, which is set in a fictional place called Jamaaligudda has just been released. Although a love story forms the crux of the story, this film, according to Kushal, will have all elements that will qualify it as a commercial entertainer. Also, while the story is set in Jamaaligudda, the place is a character by itself and becomes an important part of the narrative. Kushal, who has already begun shooting for the film adds that beside Dhananjaya and Aditi, there will be an ensemble cast of popular names, including Prakash Belawadi, Yash Shetty, Bhavana Ramanna, Prakash Shenoy and Triveni, among others, on board, whose characters will be revealed in due course of time.

Leading man Dhananjaya, meanwhile, is gearing up for the release of his maiden production venture, Badava Rascal on Christmas eve. Directed by debutant Shankar Guru, the film, which follows the escapades of a bunch of friends, will also feature directors Guru Prasad and Vijay Prasad in cameos. The actor will also be seen as one of the antagonists in Allu Arjun’s Pushpa The Rise, the first part of which releases this December. He has also been shooting for the MP Jayaraj biopic Headbush, in which he plays the late gangster. This too will be released in two parts, taking Dhananjaya’s count of such films to three, namely Thotapuri, Pushpa The Rise and Head Bush.
