Though Agni Siragugal is a stylish action thriller, it has a strong emotional connect: Director Naveen

Actor Suriya unveiled the official teaser of Agni Siragugal, recently. With a run time of 90 seconds, the teaser promises a high-voltage action extravaganza. Directed by Naveen, who previously helmed Moodar Koodam, Agni Siragugal features Arun Vijay, Vijay Antony, Akshara Haasan, Jagapathi Babu and Nasser, in key roles.

The film is produced by T Siva under his home banner, Amma Creations. The first look poster of Agni Siragugal was launched by Kamal Haasan in 2018.

Naveen tells Agni Siragugal was shot in and around Kolkata, Russia, Europe, Kazakhstan and Central Asia, under extreme weather conditions. "The teaser opens with Arun Vijay and Vijay Antony performing stunts, which were shot in -20 degrees. The entire crew almost went into deep freeze mode, except for both the actors. They took the challenges head-on," Naveen says.

Further, he adds, "Ever since we started our project, we've been facing multiple delays, but somehow, I'm confident that we've done good work. A film like this needed a lot of time to shoot. Despite the delays, the content of Agni Siragugal will stay relevant. Though the film is a stylish action thriller, it has a strong emotional connect!”

Agni Siragugal has edited by Vetre Krishnan, stunt choreography by Mahesh Mathew, cinematography by Batcha, and music by Natarajan Sankaran.

Naveen heaps praise on the lead actors. "Without the cooperation of Arun Vijay and Vijay Antony, Agni Siragugal wouldn't have been what it is today. Both of them had a great time shooting in different countries. We sat as a crew and ate chaat on the street pavements. I made a lot of memories, and friends for a lifetime," Naveen notes.

Naveen is particularly thrilled about bringing in a variety of talented actors on board. "Arun Vijay and Vijay Antony is not a usual combination. I had so much fun developing their characters. I’m not saying I’ve written a ground-breaking film, but this will make for an interesting watch. Soon, we will be announcing the release date."

Shalini Pandey was initially a part of Agni Siragugal, but walked away, owing to unforeseen reasons.

When asked about which of the actors would play the protagonist and antagonist, Naveen, in an interview with Cinema Express, said, he believes no one is 100 per cent good or bad. "So all my characters will have grey shades. Based on the situation, who is good or bad will differ," he added.

Interestingly, Naveen's daughter also plays a pivotal role in Agni Siragugal.
