Nagarjuna's production house Annapurna Studios is all set to distribute Karthi's upcoming release Sardar in the Telugu speaking states of Andhra Pradesh and Telengana, which is all set to hit screens for Diwali. The production house recently shared on its social media page, "The Chaos will be 馃敍 with his ARRIVAL @Karthi_Offl's Most Awaited Film #Sardar AP & TS Distribution Rights Bagged by #AnnapurnaStudios 馃挜WW Releasing this DIWALI 馃Ж #SardarDiwali 馃挜@Psmithran @Prince_Pictures @RaashiiKhanna_ @rajisha_vijayan @gvprakash @RedGiantMovies_ (sic)."
Karthi, who had worked with Nagarjuna in Thozha, then stated that every time he teamed up with Nagarjuna, it made him feel good. He wrote on his social media page, "When i鈥檓 with @iamnagarjuna garu he has always made me feel good about myself馃槉. Now knowing he鈥檚 there backing my film makes me feel stronger馃敟. @AnnapurnaStdios to release #Sardar in AP and TG this Diwali! @Psmithran @Prince_Pictures (sic)."
To which Nagarjuna replied saying that he cherished the moments spent with him on the sets of the film. He wrote, "Dear @Karthi_Offl my brother!! Always cherished the moments I spent with you and looking forward for more!! You are going to rock tammudu!!god bless!! (sic)."
Thozha, was directed by Vamshi Paidipally and the film marked his debut in Tamil. He is now helming Vijay's Varisu. On the other hand, Karthi's Sardar is directed by PS Mithran. Raashi Khanna and Rajisha Vijayan play the leading ladies in the film. and the supporting cast includes Munishkanth, Chunky Pandey, Prince and Murli Sharma. Karthi is said to be playing dual roles in the film. The film also marks the debut of Bollywood actor Chunky Pandey in Tamil.
Music for the film is by GV Prakash. While Ruben is handling the editing, George C Williams is in charge of the cinematography. The streaming rights for the film has been bagged by Aha Tamil. Karthi also has Muthiah's Viruman, which marks the debut of Aditi Shankar, daughter of director Shankar He also has in his kitty Mani Ratnam's magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan.
