Throwback Time: When KGF 2 star Yash chose Rajkumar Hirani & Deepika Padukone for his Bollywood journey

It is safe to say that Yash is no longer a Kannada actor alone. Following the remarkable success of K.G.F: Chapter 1, the Rocking Star saw his 'pan-Indian' popularity grow significantly, allowing him to extend his fanbase and reach as a superstar. In fact, the Hindi dubbed version of K.G.F: Chapter 2 earned considerably more than the Kannada original and in these pursuits, the film also beat the records owned by other biggies like War and Dangal. 

So, if he were to make his bona fide debut in Hindi, whom would he pick as his co-star? Interestingly, Yash has already thought through these prospects and the answer can be found in an old interview of his. Yash, as it turns out, isn't just certain about his future Bollywood co-star but also the filmmaker he would want to debut under!

In an interview (dating back to 2018) that was done during the KGF 1 promotions, Rocky Bhai Yash was asked whom he wished to pair up with, should he choose to act in a Hindi film. Pat came the reply "Deepika Padukone" because, aside from being a superstar herself, Yash reckons that it would be fun to act alongside a fellow Bengalurean when he makes his Bollywood debut.

In the same vein, Yash added that he would love to work with 3 Idiots and Sanju filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani someday, adding that he loves Hirani's scripts. "He is a wonderful filmmaker and I love his scripts. They are very close to life, very realistic and very positive - they bring out happiness and a lot of realistic emotions from within," said Yash in the interview.

Yash, who turns 37 today (January 8th), is yet to divulge the details of his next film, which is being referred to as 'Yash19'. Speculatively, the actor is associated with a number of projects including the one with Tamil director Shankar but one awaits an official word on the same to comment further. Yash's recent meeting with producer Venkat Konanki Narayan of KVN Productions has piqued the interest of the netizens who now reckon that the Narthan project starring Yash is back on the cards.
