Thug Life is an upcoming Tamil action drama directed by Mani Ratnam, and stars Kamal Haasan in the lead role. Only a few days are left for the release on June 5. Taken from a script penned by Kamal Haasan and modified by Mani Ratnam, the upcoming film is touted to be a gangster action drama. The makers on Saturday announced that bookings for the film will begin from June 1, Sunday.

Advance bookings for Thug Life, the highly anticipated Tamil action drama starring Kamal Haasan and directed by Mani Ratnam, are set to commence on the morning of June 1, at 8.01 am, the makers announced. One has to wait and watch if the film will release in Karnataka smoothly, given the controversy regarding the language remark made by Kamal Haasan.
Thug Life’s theatrical release is scheduled for June 5, as fans are eagerly awaiting to see the reunion of Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam after their iconic collaboration, Nayakan, in 1987. Although Thug Life might draw similarities to Nayakan, the makers have clarified that Thug Life is an individual film by all means.

Featuring a star-studded cast including Silambarasan, Trisha, Ashok Selvan, Joju George, Nasser, Abhirami, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and others, the music is composed by AR Rahman. Raaj Kamal Films International and Madras Talkies are jointly producing the film and will release it on IMAX as well.
Set against the backdrop of India's underworld, Thug Life follows Rangaraya Sakthivel Naickar, a mafia kingpin. When he, along with his brother, rescues a young boy named Amaran (Simbu) from a police shootout, they raise him as their own. But everything changes years later, when an assassination attempt is made on Sakthivel, and all fingers point to the grown-up Amaran as Sakthivel begins to seek his revenge.
