Shruti Haasan, who is set to appear in Rajinikanth's Coolie, will be crooning for a song for her father Kamal Haasan's film Thug Life

Actor and singer Shruti Haasan has come down to Chennai and will be participating in the audio launch function of Thug Life, will be crooning the much-anticipated song Vinveli Nayaga, featuring her father and actor Kamal Haasan.
Thug Life is gearing up for release on June 5 and the makers are leaving no stone unturned to promote the film. After the multi-city tour and promotional interviews, the audio launch function will take place on a grand scale on Saturday in Chennai.
Scored by AR Rahman who has worked with Mani Ratnam in films like Roja and Yuva, two songs from the film have been out so far; Jinguchaa and Sugar Baby. While the former is a wedding song, the second one features Trisha.
The makers have revealed that the Thug Life album will have eight songs in total. The Vinveli Nayaga song, which had courted much anticipation during the teaser, will be sung by Kamal Haasan's daughter, and actor-singer Shruti Haasan. The song has Karthik Netha's lyrics and rap portions performed by Prashanth Venkat. AR Ameen has also sung for the song. The 7 Aum Arivu actor has arrived Chennai and will be performing the song during the audio launch.
The gangster action drama is set for theatrical release on June 5. The film is directed by Mani Ratnam and also stars actors Simbu, Trisha, Ashok Selvan, Joju George, Nasser, Abhirami and others. Sanya Malhotra will be playing a cameo in the Jinguchaa song. Netflix has bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights of the film. Thug Life marks Mani Ratnam’s reunion with Kamal Haasan after 38 years since the release of their iconic film Nayakan. The trailer of Thug Life had sparked much debate with netizens left to guess the story and character arcs, and if Thug Life is indeed connected to Nayakan.
