Thug Life: Makers postpone audio launch event after Indo-Pak tensions rise

The past few weeks have been severe for India, after tourists and others were killed at Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam by militant groups originating from Pakistan. In retaliation, India organised Operation Sindoor, where the Indian Armed Forces hit the “terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir”. India-Pakistan tension has been on the rise, with national security at stake.

In light of this, actor-politician Kamal Haasan released a statement addressing the postponement of the audio launch of his upcoming film Thug Life. The event was scheduled to take place on May 16. "Art can wait. India comes first," began the statement, which added that with the recent developments and the country being on high alert, the event has been postponed. "As our soldiers stand firm on the frontlines with unflinching courage in defence of our motherland, I believe it is a time for quiet solidarity, not celebration," the note said, with an event date to be mentioned later.
