Kamal Haasan is one of the biggest names not just in the Tamil industry, but in South cinema as well. The iconic actor, who is now gearing up for the big release of Thug Life, recently spoke about Malayalam stars Mohanlal and Mammootty. The Nayakan actor said that he was proud that his name could be placed along with Mammootty and Mohanlal.

Kamal Haasan, who recently came to Kerala as a part of Thug Life promotions, also lavished praise on the Malayalam stalwarts Mohanlal and Mammotty.

“We are in one profession but each is a great talent. You know how I slipped in my name into this, you must notice that. I added my name along with those artistes. I am proud,” the Gunaa actor said.

The team of Thug Life, directed by Mani Ratnam, reached Kerala on May 21, 2025, which is also Mohanlal's birthday. While speaking to the media during the promotions, Kamal also said that he had called the Lucifer star and extended his wishes.

Thug Life, starring Kamal Haasan and directed by Mani Ratnam, is set to release on June 5, 2025. The upcoming Tamil film marks the reunion of Kamal Haasan with the ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam after nearly three decades. They last collaborated on Nayakan, which was released in 1987 and emerged to be a cult classic in Tamil cinema over the years.

Thug Life boasts of an ensemble cast, including Silambarasan, Trisha Krishnan, Abhirami, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Ashok Selvan, Joju George, and Nassar, among others. Even Sanya Malhotra, Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, and Rohit Saraf are also part of the film.
