Thug Life is an upcoming star-studded Tamil movie. The film will see not only the reunion of Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam after 38 years, but also Trisha with Silambarasan after Alai and Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, with Mani Ratnam after Ponniyin Selvan duology and Ayutha Ezhuthu, and with Kamal Haasan after Thoongaa Vanam and Manmadan Ambu.

Speaking about this, Trisha, who was recently seen in Malayalam film Identity, said in a conversation, “In this film (Thug Life), it was not hard working with both Mani Ratnam sir and Kamal sir, because I know both of them very well. In fact, in my journey of cinema, Kamal sir has been a mentor for me. From the beginning, I also know Simbu very well and we have done two films together. When I joined this film, it felt like a safe space for me. I have already built a comfort level with everyone here, including Mani sir. So, it was fortunately well.” When asked with whom she is paired opposite, as the trailer has stirred some conversations, Trisha asked the audience to find it out themselves after watching the film.

‘Mani sir knows what he can extract from me’

But back to the rapport she shares with Mani Ratnam, the Kodi actor said, “Like I said before, there is a certain comfort. Doing Ponniyin Selvan after Aayutha Ezhuthu helped me understand Mani sir more. I feel I have grown up with him and I have been trained by him, the best. And working with someone repeatedly helps you form an understanding of each other. He also knows what he can extract from me and I too have a comfort with him.”
