Thug Life trailer is out: Kamal Haasan and Silambarasan film will release on June 5. The Mani Ratnam directorial also features Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Ashok Selvan and others

The next biggie to release from Tamil cinema is Thug Life, starring Kamal Haasan with celebrated filmmaker Mani Ratnam at the helm of it. With the makers having already kickstarted the promotions for the film, the much-anticipated trailer was released by the makers on social media on Saturday.
After their successful 1987 film Nayakan, the celebrated duo; filmmaker Mani Ratnam known for his films like Anjali, Iruvar, and Roja and actor-politician Kamal Haasan are reuniting after 38 years for Thug Life. The gangster action-drama film team has been currently promoting the film in full swing. In the latest, the trailer of Thug Life was unveiled by the makers on social media.
The trailer begins with shots of various exotic locales, as we see Kamal Haasan talking about a little boy who saved his life. He seems to have taken him under his wings as he says that both of them are one entity. Soon, we see the young boy growing up to be Silambarasan. The duo seems to be together for both sorrows and joys, as see some forces working against Kamal Haasan. At the same time, we see Kamal Haasan sharing some intimate moments with Abhirami and Trisha, but the film is quick to go back to action sequences. After a few moments we see Simby declare himself as Rangarayan Sakthivel Nayakar, to his clan. There is a face-off between Simbu and Kamal Haasan.
Produced by Raaj Kamal Films International and Madras Talkies, Thug Life’s post-theatrical streaming rights of the film have been bagged by Netflix.
The cast of Thug Life includes Kamal Haasan along with Silambarasan, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Ashok Selvan, Abhirami, Joju George, Nasser, and others. The makers recently unveiled the first single Jinguchaa from the movie. AR Rahman scored the music.
The line of Thug Life was provided by the Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu actor, upon which Mani Ratnam had worked around to flesh out a unique script of a man who is believed to be dead to the outside world.
