It's been almost a week since Ajith's Thunivu hit screens and the film has been running to packed theatres. While Ajith plays a bank robber in the film, giving him apt company during the heavy-duty action scenes is his partner-in-crime, the popular Malayalam actress Manju Warrier. This is the first time that Manju is teaming up with Ajith and the duo seem to have brought the house down with their performance.

Fans seem to be so impressed with the duo that they have been urging directors to cast them in a film again. It all started after a fan created a poster with a picture of Ajith and Manju Warrier from the sets of Thunivu and expressed his wish that the duo act in a romantic film. Soon many joined the bandwagon and called them a hit pair. This is the second film of Manju Warrier in Tamil. She made her debut with Vetri Maaran's Asuran in which she played Dhanush's wife. Her performance in the film was lauded by many.

Manju Warrier, too, had expressed her happiness working with Ajith. She had shared a set of pictures with Ajith and had captioned them, "THANK YOU SIR! FOR BEING YOU! #AjithKumar #AK (sic)."

Thunivu is directed by H Vinoth and bankrolled by Boney Kapoor, marking their third collaboration with Ajith after Nerkonda Paarvai and Valimai. The film has Ajith, Manju Warrier, Samuthirakani, John Kokken, Veera, Bhagavathi Perumal, Mahanadhi Shankar, Ciby Bhuvana Chandran, Amir and Pavani Reddy to name a few. Music is by Ghibran, cinematography by Nirav Shah and editing by Vijay Velukutty.

The film was released for Pongal along with Vijay's Varisu, a family drama and action entertainer which is directed by Vamshi Paidipally and produced by Dil Raju. With the ongoing long Pongal holidays, both films are working well at the box office.
