Amidst two biggies like Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan and Naveen Polishetty, Anushka Shetty starrer Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty, another small-budget film is trying hard to grab eyeballs of audiences on September 8. The rural comedy marks the directorial debut of N Shiva Kalyan, who’s also written the story, screenplay and dialogues. The latter is a former protege of Virata Parvam maker Venu Udugula.
Shreeram Nimmala, Devaraj Palamur, Avinash Sunkara, Ishwarya, Shriyanka, Seetha, Singam Vijay, Basker Karnati and Laxman Chary play key roles in the film bankrolled by Kalyan Rao under KK Cinemas. Actor, philanthropist Sonu Sood attended the film’s pre-release event earlier this week. Recently, the team had organised a preview of the film for Venu Udugula, who gave it a glowing review.
Thurum Khanlu is an extraordinary independent film crafted by Shiva Kalyan, he said. His (Shiva Kalyan’s) directorial debut is nothing short of remarkable, skillfully exploring the complexities of innocent rural male-female relationships while delivering a delightful comedic touch, Venu Udugula stated. The authenticity and honesty of the project reportedly left the filmmaker in awe.
Venu Udugula said every member of the team, including the editor Bonthala Nagesh Reddy poured their heart and soul into the project and ensured it would be a memorable viewing experience. “Special kudos to @shreeramnimmala and @devarajpalamur for their outstanding performances that added depth to the narrative. I wholeheartedly recommend this film to all,” he added.
Suresh Bobbili scored the music for the film while Charan Ambati cranked the camera. Tips acquired the film’s audio rights. Shreeram Nimmala, the film’s lead, was seen in several small-scale outings including Madhi (streaming on Amazon Prime Video), Rudraveena, Software Blues (streaming on aha) and Uttara (available on Youtube) earlier.
