Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif are gearing up for the release of Tiger 3. The buzz around their film is positive and fans have pinned high hopes for the Maneesh Sharma directorial. Ahead of its theatrical release on November 12 (Diwali), OTTplay spoke to trade experts Taran Adarsh and Akshaye Rathi regarding the opening day collection of the YRF film.

According to them, Tiger 3 is expected to take a bumper start at the box office. The opening day collection of Salman and Katrina Kaif's film could be around Rs 35-40 crore. However, the evening shows of the film will be impacted by Sunday (November 12) evening.

Tiger 3 box office day one prediction

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh said the advance booking of Tiger 3 has been good so far. "There will be spot (current) bookings as well and it will elevate. It is a Sunday and holiday but there's Laxmi Puja also on that day. Evening shows will be affected because people will be busy with puja and festivities. Nonetheless, it should do around Rs 40-45 crore on Day 1 in India," he opined.

Having said that Tiger 3 is unlikely to beat the opening-day collection of Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan and Pathaan. "No, because it will be impacted because of Laxmi Puja in the evening. But the third day should be good because it is a very big holiday," he added.

Tiger 3 can become one of the highest-grossing films of all time

Trade expert Akshaye Rathi had a similar opinion about the film's evening shows being affected. "It is one of the highly anticipated movies in Hindi cinema. It will be on Laxmi Puja day, which prevents a lot of people and practicing Hindus, who do Laxmi Puja, from stepping out into the theatres because they are busy with celebrations," said Akshaye.

However, he feels the Salman Khan-starrer will mint around Rs 35 crore on day one at the box office. "Having said that, the fandom of Mr. Salman Khan and this franchise is so huge that I still expect nothing less than Rs 30-35 crore bare minimum on day one despite it being Laxma Puja day," he stated.

In fact, he expects that the day two collection of Tiger 3 will surpass Rs 50 crore. "On day 2, after Diwali, which is one of the most beneficial days in business, in the calendar year, I expect it to go beyond Rs 50 crore. There are huge expectations and going by the content so far coming out in the promos, I think it is a movie that can go on to become one of the highest-grossing films of all time along the lines of Pathaan, Jawan and Gadar 2," added Rathi.
