This year's Diwali release was Tiger 3, which debuted on the big screen on November 12, 2023. Maneesh Sharma directed the third installment in the Tiger franchise, with Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles. It's a known fact that Tiger 3 will stream on Prime Video after its theatrical run. However, the films drop on the OTT platform after a period of 45–60 days after their big-screen release. But reports have it: Tiger 3 is likely to stream sooner than expected.
Speculations on early streaming release
Yes, as per the latest reports, the film, which is the fifth film in the YRF Spy Universe, will drop on December 12, 2023, exactly a month after it was released in theatres. However, we are yet to get confirmation if the reports are true and if the film will be streaming for all Prime Video subscribers or an early access on rent.
Prime Video premiered Pathaan, a part of the YRF Spy Universe, nearly two months after its release on January 25, on March 22.
Tiger 3's box office milestone
As per reports in Box Office India, Tiger 3, featuring Emraan Hashmi as the main antagonist, minted Rs. 266.75 crore as of December 1, 2023.
The film is about Tiger (Salman) and Zoya (Katrina), who fight against Aatish (Emraan), a common enemy who is Zoya's relative. Tiger 3 also stars Revathi, Simran, Riddhi Dogra, Vishal Jethwa, Kumud Mishra, Ranvir Shorey, Aamir Bashir, and Gavie Chahal in pivotal roles.
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan reprised his role as Pathaan, making a special appearance in the film. Moreover, the climax of Tiger 3 made way for War 2, and Hrithik Roshan returned as Kabir, indicating that this time he is indeed going rogue.
