Unlike Salman Khan’s earlier films, his latest film, ‘Tiger 3’ was released on a Sunday. The film’s makers justified the Sunday release, stating they were super confident about Salman Khan’s star power and that it would bring audiences to the theatres even on a Sunday. The latest update about the film is that it has now surpassed the magical figure of Rs 300 crore at the box office. On the occasion of the film attaining this figure, the film’s lead star, Salman Khan, issued a heartfelt media statement.
In a media statement, Salman said that he had immense pride in being an action hero and that he was fortunate that people have loved him in this avatar in so many films. He added that it felt great to taste success again and again with this genre because it was not an easy genre of cinema to please people with, as one had to constantly reinvent and give audiences something new that they hadn’t seen with each action film. Salman expressed his heartfelt gratitude by saying that the appreciation felt like a hat-trick success for him and that the success of the Tiger films was also very personal to him.
As for the box office collections of the film ‘Tiger 3’, despite the encouraging response shown during the film’s release, it showed a steep decline on its fourth day after release. Many attributed this decline to the massive celebrations of festivals during this time, which included Diwali and Bhai Dooj. Besides the festivals, there was also the extremely critical World Cup cricket match between India and New Zealand.
Besides Salman Khan, the film ‘Tiger 3’ stars Katrina Kaif as the leading lady in the film. Besides them, the film also starred Emraan Hashmi and Kumud Mishra in all-important roles. While the film has been directed by Maneesh Sharma, it has been produced by Aditya Chopra.
