The teaser of actor Ravi Teja's Tiger Nageswara Rao promises an action-packed period drama.
Telugu star Ravi Teja on Thursday unveiled the teaser of his upcoming movie Tiger Nageswara Rao . Written and directed by Vamsee, the movie is a period drama, which revolves around a manhunt of a dangerous criminal.
The teaser begins with breaking news of a prison break incident in Madras. The criminal seems to have pulled off something unprecedented in the history of India's criminal justice system: he has escaped from the Madras Central Jail. "This is South India's biggest jail. Nobody has escaped from here till now," tells a super grumpy cop with a big moustache. However, as you may have guessed, Nageswara Rao accomplishes the impossible and puts the entire police force to shame. And this begins the hunt for the criminal, who has mounted daring robberies across Hyderabad, Delhi and Mumbai.
Judging from the teaser, the Delhi police seem to be leading the manhunt and they call in a seasoned cop, played by Murali Sharma. Of course, who would do a better job than Murali Sharma when it comes to mythologizing the heroes? His character seems to have the first-hand experience of working in the "Tiger" zone, where Nageswara Rao operated from. And thus he begins to recount the legend of Nageswara Rao, the notorious bandit, who gives sleepless nights to the state police forces. While the cops in the southern states seem to be aware of the daring exploits of Nageswara Rao, the counterparts in the north seem to be oblivious to his legend. And Murali's character is burned with the responsibility of painting a terrifying picture of Tiger Nageswara Rao to his northern counterparts, so they don't make the mistake of underestimating what this cold-hearted dacoit is capable of.
The promo video claims that this movie is "inspired by the true rumours." Bankrolled by producer Abhishek Agarwal of Karthikeya 2 fame, Tiger Nageswara Rao also stars Anupam Kher, Nupur Sanon and Gayatri Bharadwaj among others.
Tiger Nageswara Rao will simultaneously release in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi languages in cinemas on October 10.
