After their collaborations Adventures of Omanakuttan and Iblis, director Rohit VS and actor Asif Ali are set to team up again. This time, the duo will join hands for an action entertainer titled Tiki Taka, which also has Lukman Avaran and Wamiqa Gabbi in pivotal roles.

Rohith’s previous film Kala, which is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video, starred Tovino Thomas and Sumesh Moor and was critically-acclaimed. The upcoming movie too will have enough gritty action to keep the fans on the edge.

The movie will also mark Wamiqa’s comeback Malayalam movie after Tovino’s entertainer Godha and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s sci-fi mystery-thriller Nine, which released in 2019. Apart from Asif, Lukman and Wamiqa, the big budget movie, which is produced by Juvis Production, also has Naslen, Sanjana Natarajan and Santosh Prathap in pivotal roles.

Sources from the team say that the makers are also planning to approach other prominent actors from Tamil and Malayalam to be part of the film, which his expected to go on floors soon. The film will have a schedule of 80 days and will be shot in places outside Kerala too. Tiki Taka is also touted to be one of the most expensive movies in Asif’s career and is scheduled to hit theatres in 2023 itself.

Meanwhile, Asif, who was most recently seen in Sethu’s feel-good movie Maheshum Marutiyum, has several movies gearing up for release. The actor has completed the shoot of A Ranjith Cinema, in which he plays an assistant director. He is also part of Mridul Nair’s Kasaragold that also has Sunny Wayne.

The actor’s next release will be Jude Anthany Joseph’s 2018, which also has Tovino, Kunchacko Boban, Narain, Lal, Vineeth Sreenivasan and Aparna Balamurali as part of the cast. The film, which is based on the 2018 Kerala floods, is expected to hit theatres as a Vishu or Eid 2023 release in April.
