Tillu Square, the Telugu film which hit big screens on Friday, has collected Rs 23.7 crore (gross) on the first day of its release, the makers of the project announced on Saturday. The film stars actors Siddu Jonnalagadda and Anupama Parameswaran in the lead roles and opened to positive reception.

Tillu Square is romantic crime comedy film directed by Mallik Ram. The film is the sequel to the 2022 hit film DJ Tillu which starred Siddhu and Neha Shetty. On Saturday, the makers of the film announced that the sequel, which opened in theatres on March 29 (Friday), has collected Rs 23.7 crore on the first day of its release.

This is significant numbers, given the film does not boast any huge star cast or heavy budget making. It is expected that the film will do well, given the long weekend of Good Friday and Easter. Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya have jointly produced this film, which has been made on a moderate budget. Already, the makers are in a profit zone as Netflix has shelled big money for the digital rights to the film. Even outside India, Tillu Square seems to mint big numbers. As per reports, Tillu Square has crossed the half-million-dollar mark with just the premiere shows across the US.

Tillu Square will feature Siddhu reprise his lead titular role. The film also features Prince Cecil, Muralidhar Gould, Murali Sharma, among others. OTTplay review gave a rating of 3.5 and says, “Tillu Square lives up to the hype and has the right dose of comedy, twists, and romance. The one-liners, Siddhu Jonnalagadda's stand-out act, and Anuapam Parameswaran's shocking new avatar are the icing on the cake and will make this film a blockbuster at the box office. Recommended.”
The film is shot by Sai Prakash Ummadisingu, with music by Ram Miriyala and Achu Rajamani. It is edited by Navin Nooli.
