Soon after Friends: The Reunion, Jennifer Aniston, during a few media interactions while promoting The Morning Show 2, revealed that taping for the unscripted show was tough. During an interaction with The Hollywood Reporter, the actor stayed true to her statement and shared that "time travel is hard" when asked about reuniting with her co-stars from the hit 90s sitcom. Aniston also said that it was director Ben Winston's conviction that prompted the six actors to get back together after many years.
The actor told the magazine that she was unsure if they were just seduced by his talent, his charm, or a combination of both. When asked how strong the chemistry was between the actors after many years, Jen stated that they truly had a great time together. She remembered one of the studio's threats when they were young and dumb and renegotiating was when they said, "We don't need all six of you." We can do it with just the four of you." However, the six of them stood together and made sure that this didn't happen to anyone of them.
On being quizzed about why Aniston thought the reunion was "hard," the actor said that they were just so naive going into it, thinking how much fun it would be. She revealed that it just caught her off guard because it was like, "Hi, past, remember me? Remember how bad that was? You thought everything was in front of you and life was going to be perfect, and then you went through possibly the most difficult time of your life."
For Aniston, it was all very jarring, and there were cameras everywhere. The actor added that she was already a little too emotionally accessible, so she had to walk out at times. She is not sure how the makers got around it eventually.
