Timothy Olyphant is the latest star to come on board for Amazon’s upcoming musical drama Daisy Jones and The Six. The Justified star will be seen in a recurring role on the limited series, according to reports in The Hollywood Reporter.

The series will be based on the novel of the same name by Taylor Jenkins Reid. Set in the 1970s, the show will follow the story of a rock band from their steady rise to meteoric fall. The band is reportedly based on the real-life rock group Fleetwood Mac, who rose to fame in the 70s.

Olyphant will play the role of Rod, the boisterous and assertive manager of the group called the Dunne Brothers. Rod encourages the band to make the big move to Los Angeles, which sets in motion their journey to stardom and eventually becomes the Six. As their fame grows, Rod is caught between the rising frustrations among band members, which he must resolve before they break up.

In addition to Olyphant, the show also stars Riley Keough, Sam Claflin, Camila Morrone, Suki Waterhouse, Josh Whitehouse, Nabiya Be, Sebastian Chacon and Tom Wright.

Daisy Jones and The Six will consist of 10 episodes and will have Will Graham and EP Scott Neustadter as showrunners. Hello Sunshine will produce the series, with Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter serving as its executive producers.

Olyphant is known for his starring roles in the FX drama Justified, the Netflix comedy Santa Clarita Diet. He also has projects such as Havoc and National Champions in the works.

Daisy Jones and The Six will be released on Amazon Prime Video. A premiere date for the series is yet to be announced.
