TNR’s last film Play Back to release on Aha on May 21

Telugu fantasy-thriller PlayBack, which was the last film of actor-journalist Thummala Narasimha Reddy (TNR), will release on the OTT platform Aha on May 21.

Play Back, which released in theatres in February, stars Dinesh Tej, Ananya Nagalla, who was recently seen in Vakeel Saab, and late TNR in pivotal roles.

Directed by Jakka Hari Prasad, Play Back revolves around a crime reporter Karthik from the present who finds himself in a telephonic conversation with a young girl Sujatha from 1993. The multiple timelines in the film’s story make it even more intriguing.

The OTT platform in its statement mentioned, “The film is a fine showcase of TNR as a performer, who made a mark in a negative role in what was one of his last few on-screen appearances. K Bujji’s slick cinematography and composer Kamran’s gripping score lend immense appeal to Play Back on the technical front.”

TNR died due to COVID-19 complications on May 10. The actor-journalist, who was popular for his interview show named Frankly Speaking with TNR, was lauded for his antagonist character in the film by those, who were able to catch the film in theatres.
