Oscar-winner Tom Hanks is all set to appear in Wes Anderson’s next movie, which is expected to shoot in Spain. Details on his role are yet to be revealed. But a source close to the movie told The Hollywood Reporter that the role is going to be small and mostly a cameo-like appearance. This would be the first time that Hanks appears in a movie by Anderson, which has already hired several of the filmmaker’s regular players.
The film also stars Adrien Brody, Tilda Swinton and Bill Murray while Anderson has penned the script along with directing it. Plot details are under wraps for now. Anderson will release The French Dispatch via Searchlight Picture on October 22 following a Cannes debut. The film stars Brody Murray and Swinton along with Frances McDormand, Elisabeth Moss, Timothee Chalamet, Jeffrey Wright and Willem Dafoe, among others.
Hanks was last seen in the 2020 movie News of the World and will feature in Amblin’s sci-fi feature Finch, which will stream on Apple TV+. He will also be featured in the forthcoming musical flick of Baz Lurhman’s Elvis Presley and Robert Zemeckis’ Pinocchio in which Hanks plays the role of Geppetto.
All these actors who are known for their performances coming together in a single movie together under Wes Anderson’s direction is an absolute delight. They are excited to share the screen and fans are waiting to see them together as well.
