Evolution of the God of Mischief

In 2011's Thor, Hiddleston made his debut in the universe as "God of Mischief." Since then, his character has gone through several transformations, becoming the multiversal "God of Stories" from a main antagonist. During the second season finale of his Disney+ spin-off series, Loki sacrificed himself to protect the MCU's branching timelines, marking the zenith of his metamorphosis.

While discussing Loki's development as a character, Hiddleston said that the hero's decision to stop being villainous stemmed from a personal reckoning. “To become someone different, whose story had a different ending, he had to make peace with the things he did," Hiddleston explains.
