Succession

An American sitcom series starring Brain Cox as Logan Roy alongside an ensemble cast in supporting roles. The plot revolves around a globally popular media and entertainment company Waystar RoyCo, run by the Roy family which faces a new challenge when their patriarch Logan Roy steps down from his position. This series depicts the confusion faced by the family members over the control of the company, is a biting satire on the elite. Highly recommended for audiences who wish to opt for some family drama.

Squid Game

A South Korean survival drama that was dubbed in English for its worldwide premiere. The series, released in September this year, became a global phenomenon. The show revolves around a deadly game in which 456 Koreans in deep debt are made to contest with each other in a series of Korean children’s games to bag an astronomical ₩ 45.6 billion. The crux is, losing the game will cost them their lives, and there can be just one winner. It is truly a must watch!

Mare of Easttown

An American crime drama miniseries starring Kate Winslet as Marianne and Evan Peters as Zabel in lead roles. The story follows Marianne, a detective sergeant in Pennsylvania struggling with her personal issues while investigating the murder of a young girl. The series won Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Lead Actress for Winslet. This is an engaging show with Winslet delivering one of her finest performances.

YOU

You is an American psychological thriller television series, based on the book series of the same name by Caroline Kepnes. Penn Badgley stars as Joe Goldberg in the lead role. The series was split into three installments, and Penn returns alongside a different ensemble star cast for each season. The plot follows a cumulative story of a love obsessed Joe, a book manager in New York, and his encounter with his love interests. The show expertly combines the genres of thriller and stalker drama.

In this American television miniseries, Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany return to reprise their roles as Wanda Maximoff and Vision. The story depicts the aftermath of Avengers: Endgame, where Wanda and Vision live a suburban life in Westview town, New Jersey. Things start to seem not as quotidian when their lives seem to be playing out like a TV series through the decades. 

A must watch for all the Marvel fandom out there.

Midnight Mass

An American supernatural horror miniseries that stars Hamish Linklater, Zach Gilford, Kate Siegel in lead roles. The show depicts an isolated island community that witnesses supernatural events after the arrival of a mysterious young priest named Father Paul Hill. The show is a heady combination of blood, gore and thrill, and is a must-watch for cinephiles looking for some literal chills.

Loki

Based on Marvel Comics featuring the character of the same name this series stars Tom Hiddleston. The plot follows Loki, the God of mischief, escaping the clutches of Avengers. He gets caught in Time Variance Authority, a bureaucratic organisation that monitors the timeline. It entrusts Loki on a mission to catch the villains of different timelines. The time travel adventures and Hiddleston’s versatile performance are the highlights of the show, something which a true Marvel fan wouldn’t want to miss.

Money Heist

The Emmy Award-winning drama series has become the most popular heist crime show. Originally intended to be a miniseries of two parts, it was later renewed till it had four installments. Its unusual plot revolves around a mysterious man calling himself ‘The Professor’ who plans out the biggest heist in history and recruits eight people with certain abilities to print billions of euros in the Royal mint of Spain. This captivating emotional and intense drama is sure to be a binge watch!

The Serpent

The British crime drama series is based on the crimes of infamous serial killer Charles Sobharaj along with his girl friend Marie-Andrée Leclerc, who murdered and robbed young tourists in 1970s travelling through Thailand and Bangkok. The series stars Tahar Rahim as Charles Sobhraj and Jenna Coleman as Marie. Though the plot jumps back and forth in time, the essence of the 70s era and real life crime depiction is satisfactory.

Ted Lasso

This recent Emmy winner stars Jason Sudeikis in the titular role. The story includes a small-time American football coach Ted, who is hired to lead the AFC Richmond, an English Premier League soccer team in London. The show not only contains humor but also some depictions of life lessons. Whether a sports buff or not, this series can surely be placed right on top of the binge watch list.
