Top Gun: Maverick saw the return of Tom Cruise’s Pete "Maverick" Mitchell to the big screen yet again after more than 30 years. The action-packed sequel to the classic 1986 film saw Cruise bring forth his trademark daredevilry. The film saw the actor take on some dangerous stunts and the star recently opened up about his experience flying a fighter jet

In a conversation with Steve Jones, the actor shared that he flew with real TOPGUN pilots in a fighter jet, who rode in the front. A stick was set up in the back which Cruise used and the actor was given chances to ride in aerial formations as well. Referring to them as ‘extraordinary’, Cruise talked about how the pilots had handled most of the tricky maneuvers, while he acted out the scenes. But the actor said that he did manage to ‘hit some pretty heavy gs’. The actor also talked about how the scenes outside of the aircraft were ‘all real’.

Top Gun: Maverick released on May 27, and is set three decades after the events of the first film. In addition to Cruise, the film also stars Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, Ed Harris, and Val Kilmer in pivotal roles. The film was directed by Joseph Kosinski.

Top Gun: Maverick is now showing in theatres. The film can be watched in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

Cruise will also be seen in the upcoming new instalments of the Mission Impossible franchise, Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part 1 and 2. The films are scheduled for release in 2023 and 2024.
