Jaatishwar

A 2014 Bengali musical drama that stars Prosenjit Chatterjee in dual roles of Kushal Hajra and Hensman Anthony alongside Jisshu Sengupta and Swastika Mukherjee in lead roles. The movie merges two timelines - the 19th century and the present. It focuses on the life and remarkable works of Hensman Anthony, a Bengali writer and poet. Director Srijit Mukherji has reimagined the 1967 film ‘Antony Firangi, where Uttam Kumar played the titular role, in a contemporary context.

Seeta Aur Geeta

A 1972 Hindi comedy movie starring Hema Malini in a titular dual role with Dharmendra and Sanjeev Kumar opposite her. Seeta is a naive young woman ill-treated by her abusive aunt, while Geeta, the long-lost twin, is a bold street performer. Confusion happens when the two unintentionally swap places. The movie features all-time hit songs composed by R D Burman.

A 2009 Hindi action movie starring Shahid Kapoor in dual roles of Charlie and Guddu with Priyanka Chopra and Amole Gupte in lead roles. The story is set against the scenes of the Mumbai underworld. The plot follows the lives of estranged twin brothers who get mired in confusions over missing drugs, cops, and politics. After Charlie gets involved in a dubious scheme involving making a quick buck, the consequences are faced by his twin Guddu.

A 1996 Tamil action movie starring Kamal Haasan in dual roles as Chandru, opposite Manisha Koirala, Urmila Matondkar and as an old man named Senapathy opposite Sukanya. The story is about an ex-freedom fighter, determined to end the corruption, murders all wrong-doers with a special technique Varma kalai, an ancient martial art. On the other hand, his son walks the path of corruption. The movie was a commercial success and bagged three National Awards. The film boasts of a riveting plot and brilliant music score by A R Rahman.

Yajamana

A Kannada movie released in 2000 that stars Vishnuvardhan in a dual role as Shankar and Ganesh with Shashi Kumar, Abhijit, Avinash and Prema. The story depicts a well-knit family run by Shankar, who sacrifices his interests to marry and provide for a good life for his three younger brothers. A turmoil takes place when the villain Devraj tries to break the family bond, sending Shankar on exile. The three brothers must teach Devraj a lesson and bring Shankar back home.

Charithram

A 1989 Malayalam thriller movie starring Rahman in dual roles of Raju Manavalan and Albert, along with Mamoothy, Shobana, Lizy in the lead. The movie is loosely based on the 1958 British suspense film Chase a Crooked Shadow. The story follows Philip, who desperately tries to prove that Raju is not his dead brother Albert but just an imposter. Along with his friends, Philip puts Raju on various tests to expose him.
