As per Sacnilk report, Tourist Family collected Rs 86 crore at the box office worldwide, making it a huge feat for a film featuring no stalwarts and debut filmmaker to mint big numbers. The film is currently fifth highest grossing Tamil film this year. Tourist Family is produced by Million Dollar Productions and was critically well acclaimed upon its release. The film is now available for streaming on JioHotstar in languages including Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.

Tourist Family plot

The film revolves around a family of four from Sri Lanka who flee their country to escape the economic crisis and land in Tamil Nadu illegally. They must get accustomed to the new way of living and adapt to the neighbourhood without raising any suspicion on them. The Ayothi actor plays the lead role as father, while Simran plays his wife.

The ensemble cast of Tourist Family includes Yogi Babu, Mithun Jai Sankar, Kamalesh, MS Bhaskar, Ramesh Thilak, Bucks, Elango Kumaravel, Sreeja Ravi, and others. A Sean Roldan musical, the film is shot by cinematographer Aravind Viswanathan and edited by Barath Vikraman.
