Tourist Family OTT release: Kichcha Sudeepa praises Tamil family drama as ‘landmark story telling which kept me glued’

Tourist Family, the 2025 Tamil family drama starring actors Sasikumar and Simran, has been winning hearts both in theatres and after OTT release. The latest to shower praises is Kannada actor Kichcha Sudeepa. Tourist Family is a comedy family drama which is available for streaming on JioHotstar.

Tamil cinema, which has been seeing its fair share of hits and flops this year, has come up with Tourist Family, a humble family drama that was released in May in theatres. Following its phenomenal big screen run, it is now streaming on JioHotstar in multiple languages.

Starring Sasikumar and Simran in the lead roles, the film was praised by Kannada actor Kichcha Sudeepa. The Eega actor took to social media to write, “One of the finest writing and execution in recent times. #TouristFamily surely is a landmark story telling which kept me glued to my seat. Each character has it's own moments and space,,and every character flawlessly portrayed by actors. Fantabulous casting. Music is another great asset.” The Vikrant Rona actor also congratulated the director and team.

Helmed by filmmaker Abishan Jeevinth in his directorial debut, the film revolves around a Sri Lankan family of four who seek refuge in India illegally. However, when a sudden bomb blast puts them in danger, the family has to try to blend in with their surroundings to prove their innocence.

The film is Sasikumar’s highest grosser, surpassing Sundara Pandian and Kutti Puli. Also featuring Yogi Babu, Mithun Jai Sankar, Kamalesh, MS Bhaskar, Ramesh Thilak, Bucks, Elango Kumaravel, Sreeja Ravi, and others, it is produced by Million Dollar Studios. A Sean Roldan musical, Tourist Family is shot by cinematographer Aravind Viswanathan and edited by Barath Vikraman.
