We had earlier reported that a Tamil film titled Tourist Family is in the making with Sasikumar and Simran in the lead roles. The makers on Tuesday announced the release date of the film on social media. The family drama will have a summer release on May 1.

Family dramas have been enjoying quite a good reception with the Tamil audience. After the recently successful family drama Kudumbasthan, starring actor Manikandan in the lead role, a yet another film from the genre is gearing up for release. Tourist Family starring actor-filmmaker S Sasikumar and Simran in the lead roles, is set to hit theatres very soon. It will be release on May 1, the makers of the film announced on social media on Tuesday.
Written and directed by Abishan Jeevinth in his debut, the shooting for the film has been wrapped up. It marks the first time Sasikumar and Simran are collaborating. The cast of Tourist Family also includes Yogi Babu, Mithun Jai Sankar, Kamalesh, MS Bhaskar, Ramesh Thilak, Bucks, Elango Kumaravel, and Sreeja Ravi. Tourist Family is backed by Nazerath Pasilian, Magesh Raj Pasilian, and Yuvaraj Ganesan under the banner Million Dollar Studios and MRP Entertainment. Earlier the teaser of the film was released, piquing the interest of many.

The film also stars Guru Somasundaram, Saannve Megghana and Prasanna Balachandran among others. Directed by debutant Rajeshwar Kalisamy, the film revolves around a sole breadwinner who loses his job and has to make ends meet without letting his family know about his situation.
Kudumbasthan opened to positive reception upon its release and is the fourth highest grossing Tamil film this year so far.
