Tovino Thomas and Prithviraj Sukumaran unveil the teaser of Asif Ali’s Kasargold

After the success of B.Tech, Asif Ali joins hands with Mridul Nair once again. Their film, titled Kasargold, is touted to be an entertaining crime drama. Recently, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Tovino Thomas, and Unni Mukundan released the teaser of the film on their social media accounts.

While the teaser refrains from divulging much about the plot, it gives an enticing glimpse into a vivid universe. It shows a group of friends who set off on a journey to achieve some objectives. The teaser also gives a sneak peek into some exhilarating action sequences.

Along with Asif, the film also features Sunny Wayne and Vinayakan in lead roles. Sampath Ram, the antagonist in Unni Mukundan’s Malikappuram, is also seen in the Kasargold trailer.

Kasargold was initially planned during the second COVID-19 lockdown. But the crew couldn’t finish shooting the extensive film due to the limitations imposed at the time.

“The film draws inspiration from actual incidents that took place in Kerala. As an actor, what captivated me the most was how the script tactfully integrated the different incidents. I hope that the audience will enjoy the suspense and drama when they watch the story unravel on screen,” said Asif while talking to the media.

After his notable work in films like Thallumala and Sulaikha Manzil, Vishnu Vijay has composed the music for Kasargold. He has also composed the background, which aids in conveying the mood of the film. The lyrical video released that was earlier has garnered over 1.5 million views on YouTube.

Sajimon Prabhakar, known for films like Malayankunju and Android Kunjappan, has penned the script for Kasargold. While Manoj Kannoth is the ediotr, Jebil Jacob is the cinematographer. Saregama is co-producing the movie, which marks the reunion of Asif Ali with the production company after Kaapa.

Meanwhile, Asif has announced other projects, like Kishkindha Kaandam and Adavu. His new untitled project with Jis Joy is touted to be a mass thriller that also has Biju Menon playing an important role.

Asif and Biju Menon are known for their onscreen chemistry in films like Anuraga Karikkin Vellam and Vellimoonga.
