Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Siddhi Idnani, and Sonia Balani play the main characters in The Kerala Story. The audience's reactions to the Vipul Shah-produced movie have been divisive. Actor Tovino Thomas recently added his thoughts on the controversial movie.

The Kerala Story writers Sudipto Sen and Vipul Shah made several claims, and actor Tovino Thomas has responded. The actor claims that the story of the movie cannot be applied to Kerala because the makers modified the facts and numbers in the movie. Tovino admitted during the occasion that he hasn't seen The Kerala Story but that the inaccurate facts it contained worried him.

In an interview with Indian Express, Tovino said, “See, I haven’t watched that movie [The Kerala Story] yet and I haven’t spoken to anyone who has watched the movie. I saw the trailer. Its description said ‘32,000 women…’ And then they [the makers] themselves changed it from 32,000 to 3. What does that mean? As far as I know there are 35 million people in Kerala and with these three incidents nobody can generalise it. I’ll not deny the fact that this happened in Kerala. This might have happened. I don’t personally know it but I have read it in news."

Meanwhile, Tovino was in Mumbai to promote his most recent movie, '2018'. The movie tells the experiences of the 2018 Kerala floods and the ways in which individuals from all walks of life banded together to deal with the disaster.
