Amid speculation that the Geetu Mohandas film is stalled and will not meet its announced date with audiences, the team sets the record straight. 140 days to Toxic, say makers.

Yash in Toxic

In the last couple of months, multiple reports have surfaced about trouble in the making of Rocking Star Yash’s next, Toxic. From rumours that the budget has been massively overshot, to creative differences of opinion between director Geetu Mohandas and Yash that have led to the actor taking over the reins of direction, a lot has been heard. Each time these reports sprung up, Yash fans vehemently objected, deeming it all part of a negative PR campaign unleashed by fans of certain actors, especially from Bollywood. The frequency of these reports could make one wonder that there's no smoke without fire, especially since there was no formal denial from the team so far.

That has finally changed, perhaps because the intensity heightened in the last couple of days. On October 30, KVN Productions, the banner that is bankrolling Toxic along with Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, set the record straight and sought to silence detractors by posting a countdown to the film’s March 19, 2026 release. A popular trade analyst was ‘commissioned’ to dispel the rumours. Apparently, post-production work has already begun on the film and it will be ready in time for its Ugadi release.
Interestingly, while Yash fans have repeatedly been rallying in his support every time there is a not-so-favourable report about Toxic, most of them were far from happy when he announced his collaboration with Geetu. The actress-filmmaker’s earlier work, Moothon, and some of her media interactions, in which she spoke about not working with a bound script and improvising along the way, were all matters of grave concern.
Since filming began, every morsel of information, about the cast and crew, has been celebrated online, and attributed to Yash’s vision, almost as if Geetu had little to no contribution in these aspects.
