Toxic: Rocking Star Yash as Raya makes explosive entry in birthday teaser of Geetu Mohandas directorial

The beast has been unleashed – HE, who we have been warned about is here. The much-awaited reveal of Rocking Star Yash’s character from his next, Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown-Ups is here on the leading man’s 40thbirthday. Much like the birthday teaser in 2025, this time too, Yash gets a video introduction, only this one is almost as long as a trailer, and yet offers only a fleeting glimpse of the Rocking Star as he says, “Daddy’s home”.

Much of the birthday teaser is dedicated to the build up around Yash’s character, Raya, with a funeral party at a cemetery hoping to give someone a peaceful send-off. But that is not to be, as Raya makes quite the explosive entry, having his driver crash his car into a nearby tree, even as he continues to fornicate in the backseat. And then, at the precise moment, everything goes kaboom, with the explosives rigged at the cemetery going off and tearing through his enemies. And those who are left standing are then taken care of by the man himself, hinting at an action-packed narrative.

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown Ups has been co-written by the filmmaker with Yash. The official list of cast also includes Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, Sudev Nair and Akshay Oberoi. It’s been speculated that Minnal Murali actor Tovino Thomas is also onboard the film, but there’s been no indication from the team about any such involvement yet.

Meanwhile, ever since it was announced that the sequel to Ranveer Singh’s mega hit Dhurandhar would be in theatres on March 19, 2026, in a direct clash with Toxic, there have been murmurs on social media that the Yash film may look for an alternate date. The reason cited was that Dhurandhar’s massive success has propelled the sequel to most-anticipated status, which will be a problem for Toxic especially in the Hindi belt. The Hindi market is crucial for Toxic, given that his monster hit KGF: Chapter 2’s biggest box office contributor was that belt.

However, the team has repeatedly reiterated that they will not budge from this date, as they were the first to stake claim to it. In all recent promotional character reveal posters, the release date featured prominently, especially the ones leading up to the ‘Toxic birthday teaser’. 19.03.26 it is for Yash’s Toxic in theatres worldwide, where it will release in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi and English.
