Raya Rage in 50 Days – That’s the countdown that fans of Rocking Star Yash have launched ahead of the release of the actor’s next, Toxic – A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups. The Geetu Mohandas directorial has been announced as a March 19, 2026 theatrical release and Yash fans couldn’t be more excited knowing that they’ll see their favourite actor on the big screen again after nearly 4 years. The film was meant to be in theatres a year ago, but production delays pushed it to Eid 2026. Fans now want the production house to start promotions and build buzz around the film.

What is driving fan excitement about Yash's Toxic?

There was a lot of speculation surrounding Yash’s next after the super success of KGF: Chapter 2 and he’d initially maintained that it may not be a big film in terms of scale, but that it would have great content. When it was revealed that he was collaborating with Geetu, his fans were not thrilled, given her filmography as a director, and interviews in which she spoke about not sticking to a script and improvising along the way.

That she was looking at doing a gangster film seemed interesting, but she’d also said it would be made with a female gaze, so, they’ve been on the fence about Geetu’s involvement. But given Yash’s oversight in the project, they trusted his judgement and lapped up every bit of information, including the period setting, the Peaky Blinders treatment, etc.

Over time, things changed and the film got bigger, not just in scale, but in its ambition. Yash, who’d vowed the country with KGF, was ready to take on the world. He brought in technicians who’d worked on well-known Hollywood projects, and shot the film with an English version. Somewhere along the way, he also got writing credit, which explains his statement in an interview that Geetu had come to him with a small idea and that he has made it what it is today.

Toxic, meanwhile, is headed into a massive box office clash with Dhurandhar: The Revenge, the second part of the Aditya Dhar-Ranveer Saga hit film. Fans of both Yash and Ranveer factions have been urging each other to back off from this clash, but the way it stands now, that is unlikely, with both films releasing together. This time, though, Ranveer has the advantage that Yash had with KGF: 2 – it’s a sequel and audiences are eagerly waiting for it. Whereas Toxic will depend on positive word-of-mouth following the initial fan frenzy.
