The first single from Rocking Star Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown Ups dropped and it is nothing like what fans expected. A 5 language drop of the Vishal Mishra composed and sung song happened on March 2, but it was an audio version only, with only a poster to go with. The makers did not even offer a lyrical video with fleeting glimpses of the actual visuals, which left fans disappointed. Add to that the Kannada version felt more like a translated version of the Hindi original and fans had little to be excited about.

What are fans saying about Tabaahi from Toxic?

“Only audio! We expected at least a lyrical video. Disappointed,” wrote one in response to the production house’s post on social media, while another added, “Worst update ever. Can’t believe I waited 3 days for this.” While the disappointment over the lack of visuals was clear, many also felt that the song sounded more like a routine Bollywood number and did not match their expectations. A few also voiced apprehensions about the lyrics by filmmaker Yogaraj Bhat.

Meanwhile, in the last couple of days, there’s been widespread speculation surrounding Kiara Advani’s character as Nadia, with several saying that the actress is likely playing a visually-challenged person. Could this be why no visuals of the song were released?

Toxic is said to be 3 hours and 15 minutes long, and in keeping with its tagline, the film will likely be A-rated in India, with all indications so far hinting at an 18+ rating. A leaked plot summary that has been doing the rounds suggests that the story is set between the 1940s and 70s in Goa, following one man, Raya’s, brutal journey to establishing his empire.

Toxic has been directed by Geetu Mohandas; the filmmaker shares writing credits with Yash. The cast also includes Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth, Sudev Nair, Darrren D’silva, Kyle Paul, Balaji Manohar, Akshay Oberoi, among others. The trailer of the film is expected to be released on March 8, 2026.
