Jose de la Torre, famous for his Netflix show Toy Boy, is no more. He died on the night of Thursday, December 5. Torre was fighting a mysterious illness for a month and succumbed to it. His death came as a shocker in the Spanish industry, with celebrities pouring in remembrances for the actor.
Spanish actor Jose de la Torre died on December 5, a report on Montilla Digital suggests. His funeral took place on December 6. He died fighting a mysterious illness (the illness is not reported, since Torre was an immensely private person), which was detected a few months back (in June). It was after his diagnosis that Torre stayed away from limelight. Torre’s last Instagram post was on June 3, where he enjoyed the music festival in Canary Islands.
Spanish actress and singer Lolita Flores and Luisa Martin were among those who paid their condolences to Torre's family.
“How hard it is for me to accept that you’re gone, without even knowing you … Life is so unfair sometimes. You’re handsome on the outside and on the inside,” Lolita penned.
Louisa shared, “It breaks my heart to think I’ll never hear your voice again, but I’ll keep talking to you. Love you endlessly, José.”
Torre was one of the leads in the popular Spanish show, Toy Boy (two seasons). The Netflix series saw him in the role of a stripper named Ivan, who was wrongly convicted of murder.
Apart from Toy Boy, Torre starred in Servir y Protege (Serve and Protect), Vis a Vis: El Oasis as well as Amar es para siempre (To Love is Forever). Torre was also a model and appeared in various music videos.
He is survived by his sister Marina and their parents Antonio de la Torre Hidalgo and Maria Jose Delgado Espejo.
