The makers of the Tamil film Mangai released its trailer today (February 7). The trailer shows a young woman named Mangai’s fight against gender norms that still exist in our society. Kayal Anandhi plays Mangai in this intriguing drama. It has also been confirmed that the movie will hit the big screen in March.

Mangai talks about how men view women in unexpected situations and details the experiences a woman has when travelling with a man. It also demonstrates the negative impacts of social media judgements and moral policing.

About Mangai

Actor Vijay Sethupathi and directors Vetrimaaran and Ameer unveiled the first look poster for Mangai earlier in January. Viewers have been intrigued by the poster, which depicts a woman-centric film. It had also offered a glimpse of Kayal Anandhi's character in this movie.

It also shows people taking pictures of this character with their cellphones. The creators intend to release the songs from this film in February, according to sources. Filming took place in Chennai, Theni, Cumbum, Kudalur, Lower Camp, and Kerala's Munnar and Poopara.

Cast and crew of Mangai

The film has been directed by Gubenthiran Kamatchi. Gubenthiran Kamatchi has collaborated on Tamil and Telugu film projects with a number of well-known directors as a dialogue writer and co-director. He expressed his belief that Mangai would be able to keep the public's interest when the first look poster was released on January 1.

A R Jaffer Sadiq has bankrolled the film under JSM Pictures’ banner. The soundtracks for Mangai have been composed by Theeson. The camera work has been helmed by S J Star and Parthiban Antony is the editor of this movie. Karthik Durai is the executive producer.

The supporting cast of this film includes Adithya Kathir, Ram, and Dushyanth Jayaprakash. Son of actor and producer Jayaprakash, Dushyanth appeared in Sasikumar's film Easan in 2010.
