The trailer of Nayanthara's survival thriller O2 was released today. The film, which is all set to stream on Disney + Hotstar on June 17, is directed by GK Viknesh, a former associate of filmmaker Venkat Prabhu. The film marks his debut as a director. Nayanthara plays the leading lady in the film and child artiste Rithvik will be seen as her son. Music for the film is by Vishal Chandrasekar. Cinematography is by Thamizh A Azhagan and editing is by Selva RK. Sudesh Kumar and N Satheesh Kumar are handling the action choreography and art direction respectively.

Going by the trailer, Nayanthara is the mother of a child who cannot breathe normally and needs oxygen support. For one of the treatment sessions, the mother-son duo have to travel from Coimbatore to Cochin. The bus that they are travelling in, meets with an accident and falls deep inside underground. Soon, we see face-offs between the passengers leading to arguments and escalating into physical fights. The fight then turns into a battle for oxygen. Will Nayanthara be able to rescue her son? While the teaser itself had given a glimpse into the film, the trailer has piqued the curiosity in a big way. We also see a bunch of workers working in what looks like a quarry, where the bus passengers' mobile network was lost.

Disney+ Hotstar released the trailer on its social media page and wrote, "#O2Trailer is here! The film is produced by SR Prabhu's Dream Warrior Pictures. Nayanthara's Mookuthi Amman also had a direct release on Disney+ Hotstar. This is Nayanthara's third direct-to-OTT release after Mookuthi Amman and Netrikann which were released in 2020 and 2021 respectively, that too on Disney+ Hotstar.
