The streamer Amazon miniTV is expanding its thriller content slate. The OTT player is now coming up with a crime thriller, Murder in Agonda, which features a stellar ensemble cast that includes Shriya Pilgaonkar, Aasif Khan, Kubra Sait and Lillete Dubey in pivotal roles.

The series boasts of an intriguing storyline revolving around a murder mystery in one of Goa’s most respected families. The makers have released a trailer today and it looks intense and gripping. The video opens with a police officer (Aasif Khan) saying there has been a murder of Mala Coutinho (Lillete Dubey), leaving everybody in shock. As the officer investigates the case along with the detective in charge of the case, Sarla Salelkar (Shriya Pilgaonkar), he uncovers several dark truths and twists and turns in the stories of different people, leaving him confused about who to trust. The first two episodes of the 5-part murder mystery show will premiere on April 8 on Amazon miniTV with a fresh episode releasing every Friday.

Girish Prabhu, head of Amazon Advertising, said in his statement that the team is elated to release Arré Studio’s crime drama thriller. "Featuring some of the country’s finest talents, we are positive that this show will resonate well with audiences,” he said. 

Arré Studio has earlier created some successful productions like Transistor and Sorry Bhaisaab. Calling it a 'marquee project', Sharan Saikumar, creative director of Arré Studio, said that they are marking their foray into the genre of ‘cozy mysteries’. He added that they are confident that the show will leave the audience hooked and wanting more. "This show is yet another example of our creative and fresh approach to content and adds to our wide range of Originals across comedy, drama, sci-fi, etc.,” he said.

Catch the show on Amazon miniTV from April 8.
