The White Princess 

Created by Jamie Payne and Alex Kalymnios, The White Princess is an eight-episode historical drama series inspired by Philippa Gregory’s 2013 novel of the same name. In parts, it’s also based on the 2014 sequel The King’s Curse. The miniseries tells you how Henry VII and Elizabeth of York’s wedding effectively ends the ‘wars of the roses’ and unites the houses of Lancaster and York. Their enmity and distrust, however, continue to linger. The show stars Jacob Collins-Levy, Essie Davis, Amy Manson, Suki Waterhouse, Jodie Comer and Michelle Fairley, among others. 

Mary Kills People 

Starring Caroline Dhavernas, Richard Short and Jay Ryan, Mary Kills People follows an ER doctor, who turns her attention to a different practice at night. Along with her partner, a former plastic surgeon, Mary moonlights as an underground angel of death. Together, they help terminally-ill patients end their lives on their own terms. The three-season Canadian drama series is created by Tara Armstrong and Holly Dale. 

Gaslit 

Directed by Matt Ross, Gaslit is an eight-episode political thriller series, inspired by the untold stories and forgotten characters from Leon Neyfakh’s podcast Slow Burn. Starring Julia Roberts, Sean Penn, Dan Stevens, Betty Gilpin, Shea Whigham and Darby Camp, the series depicts the infamous Watergate scandal of 1972, probing the relationship between Martha and John Mitchell (a socialite and President Richard Nixon’s Attorney General), alongside the events that culminated in the break-in of the Watergate Office Building.

The Pact

With Eddie Marsan, Eiry Thomas, Heledd Gwynn, Laura Fraser and Julie Hesmondhalgh playing the key roles, The Pact is a BBC One drama series written and created by Pete McTighe. The two-season series is directed by Rebecca Johnson, Eric Styles and Nicole Volavka. When a young brewery boss is found dead, a chain of events is triggered that draws four of his employees - Anna, Nancy, Louie and Cat - into a fragile pact of silence, bound by a secret that will change their lives forever. 

The Tourist 

Helmed by Chris Sweeney, The Tourist is a six-episode thriller drama series, starring Jamie Dornan as the victim of a car crash, who wakes up in hospital with amnesia. The series - written by Harry Williams and Jack Williams - also features Danielle Macdonald, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Genevieve Lemon, Alex Dimitriades and Damon Herriman in pivotal roles.

Black Mafia Family 

Starring Russell Hornsby, Demetrius Flenory Jr, Da’Vinchi, Michole Briana White, Eric Kofi-Abrefa, Richard Slade, Ajiona Alexus and Myles Truitt, among others, Black Mafia Family (BMF) is a crime drama series created by Randy Huggins. The two-season series follows BMF, a drug-trafficking and money-laundering organisation. It’s inspired by the true story of two brothers - Demetrius ‘Big Meech’ Flenory and Terry ‘Southwest T’ Flenory - in southwest Detroit in the late 1980s.
