Vikas Productions’ upcoming Hindi biographical film Nyaay: The Justice released its poster and teaser on April 13. The film is based on true events and is a tribute to late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

Fans were left heartbroken after the news of Rajput’s demise broke. Nyaay: The Justice dives into the many unanswered questions regarding the fate of Rajput. The film stars Zuber Khan and Shreya Shukla in lead roles.

The 58-second-long teaser begins with the retelling of the events of June 2020, when Rajput was found dead in his apartment. The teaser opens with the breaking news of popular actor Mahinder Singh committing suicide and then shows glimpses from the actor’s life before the fatal incident. The teaser also revealed that the film will focus on India’s three biggest investigation agencies joining hands to find the truth behind Mahinder Singh’s death - was it a suicide or a planned murder?

Expressing his sorrow over Rajput’s demise, director Dilip Gulati said, “I was shocked to learn about his death; though I do not know him personally, we all felt for him. Through this film we want to send out a message that taking your own life is not the right thing to do, there is always another option.”

Commenting on his film, the director also said that the film is a tribute to Rajput, attempting to celebrate his legacy.

Producers Sarla A Saraogi and Rahul Sharma also shared their views on the film. “We are making this film not to ride on his fame or success, we hope that this film celebrates his journey and reignites the spark to seek justice for a lost son,” they said.

Legal advisor for Vikas Productions, advocate Ashok Saraogi, revealed why they made the movie. “There are two reasons for making this film - one being that the truth has to come out and justice has to be served. This film will highlight such factors which could throw new light on the case. The second being the need to give out a message saying committing suicide is not the option. Every life is very important,” said Saraogi.

The movie is due for a digital and theatrical release on June 11. Nyaay: The Justice also stars Aman Verma as ED Chief, Asrani as Mahinder Singh’s father, Shakti Kapoor as NCB Chief and Kiran Kumar as Advocate of Mahendra’s father.

The OTT platform where Nyaay: The Justice will release is yet to be announced by the filmmakers.
