Triple bonanza for Yash fans on June 3? Amid 50 days of KGF2 celebrations and its OTT outing, fans hope for #Yash19 update

In the last one month and a half Kannada cinema’s Rocking Star and now a global phenomenon, Yash has been trending on social media pretty much every other day. While it was for his film KGF: Chapter 2’s global box office success most of the time, occasionally, it wasn’t for the right reasons, when his fans sparked social media wars with fans of other stars for seemingly trivial reasons.

A little while ago, #YashBoss started trending again, but this time around, it’s because of all the excitement surrounding KGF: Chapter 2 inching closer to 50 days at the box office on June 3 and it dropping on Amazon Prime Video for ‘free’. There’s also widespread speculation that the actor will have a treat in store for fans with an update on his rumoured next, #Yash19, which is supposedly with Mufti director Narthan. Yash is reportedly committed to a film with KVN Productions, which will be directed by Narthan. Over time, though, there’s been no confirmation or further development on this.

During the promotions of KGF: Chapter 2, Yash was repeatedly asked about his next and while he did not confirm any rumour, he did say that a script was in development and that ‘the team’ has been working on it for a while. Subsequently, when the actor continued maintaining his Rocky Bhai look with longer locks and beard, it was thought that maybe he would soon start work on KGF: Chapter 3. Even Hombale Films, the makers of the KGF saga had first said that KGF3 would take off as soon as director Prashant Neel is done with Salaar. Almost immediately, though, they rescinded on that statement, saying instead that KGF3 would commence only after both Prashant and Yash finish other commitments, most likely sometime in 2023.

June 3 is seen as a momentous occasion for Yash and his fans. KGF2 will mark 50 days at the box office, which becomes significant considering its monstrous success across the globe, clocking in over Rs 1,200 crore. While celebrations are in order for this, June 3 will bring KGF2 to OTT. Fans are keeping their fingers crossed that there will be thrice the joy with a #Yash19 update as well. Let’s wait and watch.
