Triple Riding on OTT: Golden Star Ganesh’s romantic comedy finally gets a digital partner

When the trailer of Golden Star Ganesh’s Triple Riding dropped a week ahead of its theatrical release, the consensus among his fans and netizens was that the actor was not stepping out of his comfort zone and doing the same kind of films over and over again. The film had Ganesh as Ram, a middle-class guy doing sundry jobs to get by, who is coaxed into pretending to be someone else for a particular reason. The job, though, doesn’t end at just identity theft- as Dr Mahesh, he has to get another doctor fall in love with him and get her to run away from home.

The film was widely panned for being outdated and peddling the supposed must-haves of a Ganesh film – comedy, romance, song-and-dance, fights and a few emotional scenes – and didn’t have a good run at the box office. The team was, however, able to sell the satellite rights Star Suvarna and now we hear that the film’s digital rights also have been picked up. Triple Riding will soon be available on Amazon Prime Video to stream. While the platform is yet to announce a likely date for the same, the TV premiere of the film will happen on February 5 at 7 pm. It is expected that Triple Riding will begin streaming shortly after the TV outing.

Meanwhile, Ganesh is currently looking forward to the release of his fourth film with director Preetham Gubbi, Baana Daariyalli, which will be in theatres on March 17. The film pairs Ganesh with Rukmini Vasanth and Reeshma Nanaiah and is being marketed with the tagline, that it is not a love story but a story about love. Ganesh plays a cricketer in the film, while Rukmini is a surfer and Reeshma a wildlife photographer. An avid cricketer himself, the actor will also be a part of the upcoming Kannada Chalanachitra Cup’s third edition, which will be held in Bengaluru on February 24 and 25.
