Animal-famed actress Triptii Dimri might be known for Laila Majnu but she actually made her Bollywood debut opposite the Yamla Pagla Deewana brothers aka the Deol brothers. The actress was a part of Poster Boys featuring Bobby Deol, Sunny Deol and Golmaal Returns actor Shreyas Talpade. She even told her parents of the same, but ended up gaining fame for Rockstar director Imtiaz Ali's Laila Majnu years later. Can you guess what happened next?
Triptii Dimri had started modelling in college itself, which is when she was approached for Poster Boys. The movie would feature her future Animal co-star Bobby Deol, and back in the day, she even made her debut with the movie. The actress told Ranveer Allahbadia during his podcast that her parents were happy to learn about her Bollywood debut with the Deols, for they thought she was going in the right direction. "Pehle audition mein fail ho gayi aur phir unko (casting team) to pata laga ki main Bombay mein hoon, toh unhone mujhe wapas bulaya aur dobara office jaake audition diya aur agle din pata chala ki selection ho gaya hai. I was shocked. Uss din jab maine parents ko bataya ki Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Shreyas Talpade ke saath film hai uss din se they were confident," the actress recalled.
Since Poster Boys generally went unnoticed, Triptii was assumed to have made her big Bollywood debut with Laila Majnu, a film which saw another talented newbie Avinash Tiwary as the male protagonist. The movie has received love over the years, not when it released, much like Sanam Teri Kasam and Tumbbad.
Although many have argued that Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal is anti-feminist, Triptii disagrees. She told Filmfare that she wouldn't give tags to movies and thus, even if she has powerful films like Qala and Bulbbul to her credit, Triptii would not see them as feminist films either. The audiences now await the actress' reappearance in Animal Park, especially because of the crucial climax scene where the audiences are left wondering what would become of their 'Bhabhi No 2' in the franchise ahead. Nonetheless, Animal Park would still take some time to be out in theatres, for all the actors are currently busy with other projects.
