The team of Jeethu Joseph’s Ram finally resumed shooting today in Kochi for the big budget movie, which had been stalled due to the pandemic since January 2020. Apart from its lead actor Mohanlal, Trisha Krishnan and Indrajith Sukumaran have also joined its current schedule, which is expected to wrap up in the next 10 days.
Trisha, who plays a doctor in the film, had last shot for the movie in 2019 and has joined after a gap of almost three years. Ram marks her second Malayalam movie, after Shyamaprasad and Nivin Pauly’s Hey Jude.
The current schedule, which went on floors in a hotel in Kochi, will involve sequences of its three lead actors. Jeethu and team are expected to head to the UK at the end of the month for the film’s final schedule, which will begin by September. The UK and Morocco are the two locations that have been finalised for the film, which also has Durga Krishna, Adil Hussain and G Chandunath.
In an earlier interview with OTTplay, Jeethu had said that the movie has been scaled up since the pandemic and now will be presented as a pan-Indian movie with theatrical release expected in several languages. The movie’s script too has been expanded and Ram will now release in two instalments, according to the new plan. The film is expected to wrap up shoot by September end.
Meanwhile, Jeethu, who has completed shooting for a thriller titled Kooman with Asif Ali, has also announced two more projects. He will be collaborating with Mohanlal again for another movie after Ram and will be reuniting with Prithviraj Sukumaran, after Memories and Oozham, for a thriller that is set to go on floors in 2023. The director had earlier also told us that he is in discussions for two Hindi movies as well.
