Trisha Krishnan’s Paramapadham Vilayattu premieres on Disney+ Hotstar

]Trisha Krishnan has truly had a prolific career as an actor in the South film industry. Her 60th film is an exciting political-thriller based on true events. This Tamil New Year, Disney+ Hotstar is bringing Paramapadham Vilayattu to audiences at home.

The film’s release was postponed last year due to unexplained reasons. A year after its original release was due, Paramapadham Vilayattu made its OTT debut on Disney+ Hotstar on April 14.

Written and directed by K Thirugnanam, Paramapadham Vilayattu is the story of a doctor who has to fight her kidnappers to reveal the truth behind a political leader’s untimely death.

Trisha features in the movie as its protagonist Dr Gayathri, who is responsible for treating an ailing political party leader, Chezian. Following his death under mysterious circumstances, Gayathri sets out to find the truth and reveal the identity of the real murderers while putting her life in danger.

It is not long before Gayathri realises that the world of politics is like a game of snakes and ladders and she is webbed into it. The two political rivals who are fighting for the seat of Chezian go to extreme lengths to control the hospital and its doctors.

Talking about her role in the movie, the actor revealed that the film captures the intense scuffle for power between political rivals. Stating the storyline of the movie to be unconventional, she also said that she plays the role of an ordinary citizen who gets entangled in this fight over political power.

Trisha expressed her happiness at getting the opportunity to portray a strong female character. Additionally, she also wished that her audiences would enjoy the movie.

This political-drama film also stars Nandha Durairaj and Vela Ramamoorthy. Paramapadham Vilayattu can be streamed on Disney+ Hotstar from April 14.
