Actor Trisha has sparked speculation with her recent tweet, in which she responded to a tweet by filmmaker Selvaraghavan from a decade ago. Trisha wrote, "I'm ready," while tagging Selvaraghavan in her post.
In Selvaraghavan's original tweet from 2013, the director noted how he enjoyed rewatching his 2007 family drama Aadavari Matalaku Arthale Verule, which is Telugu for, 'the words of women have different meanings.' He also expressed his interest in making a sequel.
And it's unclear why Trisha chose to dig up the tweet, which was over a decade old. And many on the internet were convinced that Trisha was laying the groundwork for the sequel's announcement.
Selvaraghavan, however, is yet to respond to Trisha's online nudge.
2007's biggest family entertainer
Aadavari Matalaku Arthale Verule saw Trisha and Venkatesh play the unlively romantic couple. The movie revolves around the struggles of an unemployed youth and his complicated relationship with his father. The movie resonated with family audiences and emerged as a huge hit at the box office.
The movie's success even inspired a remake in Tamil named Yaaradi Nee Mohini. Starring Dhanush and Nayanthara in the lead roles, the remake failed to capture the magic of the original drama. And yet it was touted as a hit at the box office.
Aadavari Matalaku Arthale Verule ends with the characters of Trisha and Venkatesh struggling to settle into the marriage life. Will the sequel further explore the drama in married life? Or will it be a completely different movie in the series?
Trisha's upcoming movies
Trisha garnered a lot of praise for her performance as Kundavai in director Mani Ratnam's epic drama Ponniyin Selvan: II. The final part of the two-part epic drama was released in cinemas earlier this year and became a hit at the box office.
Trisha will be next seen in Thalapathy Vijay's Leo. Written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film marks her onscreen reunion with Vijay after a gap of 12 years.
Leo is due in cinemas on October 19.
