Trisha's upcoming film, The Road, is likely to hit screens in August. The latest we hear is that the promotions for the film will begin later this month and that the film, which is touted to be a revenge thriller, is all set to drop in theatres in mid or late August. Trisha is said to be seen in a power-packed avatar in the film.

The star cast for the film includes Trisha, Santhosh Prathap, Miya George, MS Bhaskar, Vela Ramamoorthy, Shabeer Kallarakkal, Master Saathvik and Negha Shahin to name a few.

The makers of The Road had last dropped a making video of the film, on the occasion of the actress's birthday on May 4. Going by the video, it looks like Trisha's character gets stuck in the middle of journey and is seen scouting for someone amid a banana plantation. We also see a car being toppled by another on the road. There had been further updates until then.

Meanwhile, we hear that Trisha is being considered as the leading lady for Megastar Chiranjeevi's next. The duo had last shared screen space in Stalin, which had hit screens in 2006.

Trisha is also the frontrunner for Ajith's next with Magizh Thirumeni. The film will be bankrolled by Lyca Productions and will have music by Anirudh Ravichander. The duo had earlier worked together in films like Ji (2005), Kireedam (2007), Mankatha (2011) or Yennai Arindhaal (2015). The actress had also stated her admiration for the Thunivu actress from time to time.

The actress is currently busy with the shoot of Lokesh Kanagaraj's upcoming film Leo. The film marks her comeback with Vijay onscreen after a span of 14 years. Leo is one of the most hyped projects of the year and the film is likely to drop in theatres in October.
